Just had my father check out a 94, seems to be in mint shape. Problem is it's at a dealer and they are asking 13995. I know this is way inflated but just looking for a good starting point. Here are the details

124k miles
no lockers
all other options
Mint in and out, no dents or tears

Whats some good ammo to hammer down the price?

TIA

Way, way, too much money.

IF it had diff locks you could possibly justify that much money(tough job) We recently sold a 94 with just at 100k miles for around $11k (very nice one owner that had a TJM ft bumper and brand new BFG AT/TA tires. A local guy just picked up a 96 with lockers and 74k miles for $15K

That sounds high to me as well. I just picked a MINT 97' 122k/lockers/no factory rack/good maint records/brand new Revo's and some extra goodies for less then the one you are looking at there ;) Keep looking or talk them way down. Good Luck

Koz,

:D You think that's high?
I happened to be in the local automall and noticed a '97 LC at the Toyota dealership. I stopped to take a quick look. There was no price sticker on the window. Very clean (no roof rack, no running boards, fr&rr mudflaps)...oh yeah, and factory lockers, around 67k miles on the odo. The sales monkey quoted $27k. Thinking I misheard -- I asked again. $27k. I couldn't help but laugh. He did say that they would negotiate..."we're very eager to move our inventory." Uh...apparently not THAT eager. :slap:

(this is in the Sacramento area)

San Francisco Bay Area prices are probably one of the highest in the country but still it sounds high. I would avoid dealers myself. Try http://www.craiglist.com and http://www.cars.com for private party deals.

Consider finding one down in SoCal too. It's a short flight and many more choices. Perhaps someone on the board would be able to prescreen it for you too.
