So my '06 LX is up for service and I am making a shopping list of stuff I will need to do have the 90k done.
I know it is time for the timing belt and I did do my forum search. I especially liked this write up.
But the more I read on the subject the longer the list of parts (and labor) gets.
Timing belt, water pump, tensioners, idlers, T stat, seals etc.. Some even suggest to replace the starter motor, alternator, thermostat hoses and the list goes on, just because of easy access and/or cheap insurance. It almost seems like an engine rebuilt and overkill to me.
I have had the LX for a year now and absolutely love this thing. I don't wheel it and I think it has a pretty easy life (apart from our extreme seasons). I did about 25k miles this year.
My question is simple. What would be reasonable to replace during the first 90k service. I don't want to waste money and replace parts that are perfectly fine for another 90k.
Btw, I put this totally unrelated picture in this post because I know we all like pictures ;p
