Hoping someone can help me out. I have a 94 and Im not getting any washer fluid to the rear window, instead its leaking somewhere above the drivers side wheel well. Before I start tearing things apart I was wondering if anyone can tell me where the washer fluid line is routed. Not sure if its somewhere above the head liner (but its dry even with the leak) . Any help would be appreciated

I think it goes on the inside drivers side alone the floor. Usually right on the edge of the carpet below the doors. Then goes up in the rear. There is a bladder inside the front fender that holds the majority of the fluid.

It is run upward through the driver's side rear pillar. You can access it by removing the rear driver's side plastic, or from above, by moving the headliner. I would check for leaks behind the rear panel in the cargo area, driver's side. You will also need to remove the seat belt (3rd row) to fully access the line.

On USA models there is one tank/bladder and one pump. It is usually on the PS fender. the line runs across the firewall and then into the Diverter Valve that is just below the hood hinge, rearward of the ARB system. The tank line goes into it, and the fluid is diverted out two different hoses to wash either front or rear window. Front window hose goes straight up from the valve and connects to squirters on hood.Other hose goes thru firewll gromet outboard and below the brake booster. Most likely the diverter valve has died, become corroded. I threw mine away and just plumbed a single line from the feed pump to the hood.

I just purchased a new diverter valve and new pump. The fluid is going towards the end, I just have leak somewhere towards the rear above the drivers side rear wheel well. I just need to find out where the hose is routed before I start tearing things apart. Hoping its not above the roof liner.

I can see my hose by the factory jack. I thought it was leaking but turned out to be window seal.

Thanks for all the helpful replys and now Im relieved its not up by the headliner, I took a quick look earlier today by the factory jack and did'nt see it (going to look a bit closer tomorrow with my glasses). Love this site, i had two questions today and both were answered. Very much appreciated.

Did your replace the window seal?

Yes. Also found rust just starting so went to bare metal, primer, paint, and new rubbers on drivers side. No more leaks. Wouldn't have been an issue if I lived anywhere else, but here it can rain for months in a row.

Well I found the problem(s). I don't know what the previous owner was doing but after your help and pic, I removed the jack and holder and there it was. The tube was disconnected from the main line, later I discovered it was also disconnected from the connector uptop right above the headliner, and its also disconnected from the rear latch piece that shoots the fluid onto the rear window. WTF 3 locations were disconnected.

I have a couple more questions, the location it was disconnected was right below the jack where the Y connector is, I found another tube going to the passenger side of the vehicle and comes out right by the rear sub or speaker. The tube was open on this end and spraying all over, I could not find another tube is should connect to. So I disconnected the Y connector and just ran it directly up the DS. What is the Y connector for and am I missing something on the PS by the speaker?

Also how do I remove the piece on the rear latch that sprays the fluid on the window (sorry dont know what its called)so I connect the tube? I dry to wiggle it out but dont want to break it. Thanks again for any help.

@cuaround

Be careful there is also another hose that will be disconnected and should be. It is also in my pic, it has a Y on the end. This was the hose for the second washer nozzle if you were lucky enough to have the barn doors rear. Since we have the hatch models they kept the line there but it is disconnected.

Kaninja, Just to verify the piece with the clear tube with y connector and short black tube is not connected to the main line correct? Its only supposed to be the two clear lines with the blue connector? Thanks again, know I just need to verfy how to remove the piece from the rear hatch.

That explains why I was getting fluid on the other side after connecting the Y connector. Also thanks for telling me why its there. Any thoughts on removal of the spray piece on the rear hatch so I can connect the tube?

This thread really helped me today, thank you! Both front and rear sprayers haven’t worked for probably 10+ years and finally got around to addressing. It was the diverter on the drivers side firewall.

Replaced with new diverter, front windshield now works great, but rear made a big mess and dripping out the rear DS quarter panel drain. “Somebody” (probably me 10 years ago 😓) hooked the sprayer line to the blank instead of the hidden little blue supply line. Connected to the correct line and now it works great for the first time in at least a decade!

Glad that worked out for you.
