Hi all. Gonna need to replace the rear window. Anything in particular I should be aware of/look out for? Anything I should absolutely ask for or avoid? OEM vs aftermarket glass? Defrost wiring?

Someone did the "window ventilation mod" for me. I mean: I did like how I could roll down the rear window in my '90 4Runner, but this isn't how I'd do it. kinda ridiculous :)

Updates/resources/learnings:
1. Make sure to clean glass out of the liftgate
2. Wiper horizontal when reinstalling
3. Pay attn when removing the spoiler rear spoiler removal - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/rear-spoiler-removal.977198/
4. Found a video of the replacement process

OEM glass. I had the same "ventilation problem" as you on my 2017 LC. Found a body shop my insurer supported with lifetime warranty that used OEM glass. Had zero issues.

Make sure they clean all the glass out of the inside of the door. My LX had a rattle in the hatch that you could hear every time you closed the door. I finally popped the Interior panel off the hatch and found 7-8 pieces of broken glass. Guess that means mine has had the ventilation mod as well.. Luckily it was replaced with OEM glass.

If this is an insurance job, tell the service manager that you want the tailgate completely disassembled so that they can vacuum up every bit of glass that may be stuck in the crevices. Otherwise, you'll hear a rattling sound every time you open or close the tailgate.

Make sure the wiper arm is horizontal when in the park position after install. The arm should have notches where the splines on the shaft are, but if the installer doesn't take their time they can mess this up and it'll sit crooked.

Beyond that I'd just want to make sure the installer uses all factory trim and the FSM procedure for attaching the spoiler again. And what they said about getting all the broken glass out.

When I did the ventilation mod, here's a couple things I learned

- there is no aftermarket glass available, only OEM with the low production numbers
- OEM glass 4 yrs ago IIRC, was ~$1100
- there's tinted and non-tinted versions

The "L" tax doesn't apply here?

68105-60440 for a 2013 landcruiser (based on your taillights) MSRP as of today is $508, $381 at the discount site I use.
