So, finally not broke after a few tight months, and I'm fixing all the little, irritating stuff in my cruiser.

Basically, I want a rear view mirror (the one inside the cab) that'll bolt up where the factory one does, but isn't completely loose and wobbly with no tightener on the little ball joint. A bigger mirror would be nice, too, but that's strictly a secondary, optional objective.

I couldn't care less about if it's OEM or aftermarket -- I just want something cheap that fits and is more functional than the old one, and I live on an island, so I can't just go look at a bunch of used ones in a pick-and-pull without investing $20+ on the ferry ticket and gas.

So far, my research says that 80-series mirrors should bolt up (same two-screw arrangement), and maybe some Camry/etc. mirrors from the 80s and 90s, but I'd like to know more specifically, as well as about any other vehicles with the same type of mounting.

Good used mirrors come up for sale all the time in the classifieds here. The mirror is also still available new... but costs more than $20. I got a nice used FJ60 mirror a while back for $40.

Thanks for the suggestions...

Just because I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible, let's say $30 is the most I want to spend. I'd rather have a brand new chintzy Thai knockoff and a six packs of fancy beer than a used OEM mirror and no beer. I also don't want to get a new-to-me OEM mirror with the same non-tightenable joint that'll just turn to garbage when it gets loose down the road. I also don't want to go all-out on such a small part of the rig that's so minor if a cheap one fails -- I want to save as much money for big stuff that's catastrophic if it goes bad, like engine/drivetrain and brakes.

So, let's try to limit it to non-cruisers with matching bolt patterns and/or cheap aftermarket crap.

I've been ebay-crawling and it looks like Celicas, Tercels, and Corollas from the 80s share the same type of connector (with the two screws and the little spring steel plate). Does anyone know what other Toyotas used this type of mount?

Not should but will. Hit up the parting out section and try to snag one or contact @mel lowe for a good used one.

are 60 and 62 mirrors the same? I need a 62 mirror and new or used is fine. Just need one that doesn’t wobble

I replaced mine last month with New One. This one (from my 62) still works, No Wobble, but the rear plastic is a little weathered. Some SEM Plastic Spray Paint will do a good restore. You might have to source the small cover (NLA).

The sweat thing about the Wits End mirror arm, is that you can bolt most any modern rear view mirror to it. I have back camera wired to the to mine..
