Having met, I would say you have your wits about you.. ! On the other hand, I understand needing something and grabbing what you have to get things done. And like you, I have had to re-do that project as a result. Sorry but you’ll be better off once it’s all settled…I love that truck
 
Hey bud, how's it going? We learn as we do I guess. I'm sure it'll be fine after a new set of bearings and proper grease. Have you taken apart the motor?
 
Ha…. Not yet.i did inventory the pieces and made a few mental notes where to start. I am easily 4 months behind on everything I had planned to do. I’m sure you know how that goes…looking forward to it though
 
Did me bearings on the left, now only about 25% of the noise is there. Just as I assumed, the right hand side will need doing too. Ima do that over the weekend.
Pffftt. Good thing is that it is an easy job.
 
Got them bearings in on the right hand side. No longer have noise but I still have the vibration in the driveline. I'm gonna turn my attention to the drums in the back. Not sure where else to look, it's driving me nuts.

Alright, drums were replaced last week, it's nice to have everything new under there. Literally all is new stuff! Problem is that the driveline vibration and noise is still there. Only things I haven't touched are tranny tcase combo. I really don't feel like taking that s*** apart right now. Pfffttt.
 
Right, let me search. I just replaced the u joints too! I'm gonna remove rear shaft and go for a spin in fwd to see if that is indeed the problem. Will report
 
I had a vibration and horrible noise ONLY on deceleration. Seemed to start after I had pulled some leaves from my rear spring packs. The noise seemed to be in my transmission. You'd swear it was a failing bearing. Especially when I got off the freeway and coasted down from 75 MPH. Step on the gas and the noise/ vibration stopped.

I checked the oil level and the drain plug magnet and everything was normal.

I rechecked my drive shaft angles and it was in normal operating range.

I took my truck to the drive shaft shop and the guy said nothing is wrong. Even checked the balance which cost me about $80. I tried a few degrees of shims to change the pinion angle. Still there.

I had people telling me to put in a double cardan drive shaft and I couldn't believe it was the problem. I pulled my transmission and transfer cases completely apart and found nothing wrong.

I put in a DC drive shaft and rotated my pinion up as required for a DC drive shaft and no more noise and vibration.

Just MY personal experience on my lifted, SAS'd and dual T-case 88 standard cab.
 
This seems like it could be my problem as well. The noise in my truck is especially exacerbated when turning right, which is why I thought bearings. If I turn left, hard, it goes away entirely, Once I go straight, its half the noise and vibration as turning right. So, I am assuming that when I turn right and the truck leans to the left, the driveshaft angle is weirder than it should since the diff and t-case are not 100% aligned left to right to begin with. Besides bolting on a double cardan shaft, Is there any other work that needs doing, or just that?
 
Yours has different symptoms than mine did for sure so I can see why it's so hard to nail down. The drive shaft shop guy even mentioned the extra angle side angle on these Toyota trucks.

He wasn't the one to recommend the DC shaft. He actually didn't know why I had the noise and vibration as everything was aligned as needed. I had posted on Yotatech many years ago and people were telling me to get the DC drive shaft.

Yes you have more to do than bolting the new DC shaft in place. The pinion has to point at the T-case output. I cut off my spring perches and welded on new perches after setting the pinion angle. I bought a U-bolt flip kit. Probably youtube videos to set DC pinion angles.

If you haven't already, make sure you have good engine and trans mounts. Spring bushings. Sorry, I'd have to go back an reread everything you did.
