rear tire swingout option

Actually you'll need to mod out your cruiser. You'll need to reinforce where the mounts go too. You'll need to put reinforcement plates behind the mounting points. I've looked into getting one of these before but the trouble and work is not worth it, in my opinion. I ended getting a whole new rear bumper with a tire swing out and gas can swing out.

We have one of each of these in stock. 1 for an 80 and the other for 100 series. $2750.00 shipped. Haring is correct, you have to reinforce the inner mounting points. Still a lot less expensive then a bumper though. The seller on Ebay has an exclusions list and won't ship to the US.

Cheers,
Brian

Oops... That was supposed to be $275.00. Sorry :-)

It can be done. Did it to my 91 US spec LC.
The guy i got it from sent me the whole R D pillar support. Came from a rolled HDJ81.
You will need the carrier, upper/lower support, striker (lower hatch), guide (upper hatch).
Not hard to do, so long you have everything to complete the swap

RE: Axxis Off Road Rear Tire Swing Out Pics

***SOLD** As mentioned, I only have one of these for an 80. Mark "Wasn't Me" has first dibs if he's interested. We've had some technical difficulties sending/receiving pics.

Busmup- do you have a picture of that pillar support your were referring to?

Although I haven't seen a JDM personally, I can attest that this one is built VERY stout.

 Brian

Here is the D pillar he sent me. Next to the pillar, on the right is the outer skin that goes in-between the upper/lower brackets of the carrier and the upper/lower brackets to the pillar

Next pictures are the upper/lower brackets connected to the D pillar. The top bracket was spot welded to the D pillar, so i did exacly the same. The top bracket had to be trimmed a little to make it fit. The bottom one was a straight bolt on. 3 bolts to be exact!

Last picture is of the cutout D pillar next to the stock one.

Any idea about the pillar strength on the 100 series and what is needed to mount it?

Sorry, I don't. Maybe someone can chime in. That's why I only have one of each. I wasn't sure exactly what was needed for the install. I figured all it needed was maybe some extra support and we had another option here in the states for our cruisers??

Thanks! I don't have a panel off to inspect, but would you say that with inner support is how these are mounted?

The pillar in the picture is the same as any FJ made on the production line. The only difference would be the mounting brackets itself. Which is shown below:
UPPER/LOWER
