Has anyone fabricated a rear swing out by cutting a hole in the OEM plastic bumper cover and retaining it with a swing out? Possibly remove one of the Red rear marker lights in the bumper and use that slot as a pivot point?

I can't seem to find anyone who has done this on ih8mud but I'm sure that's incorrect. Surely someone has done it.

BTW, just got our first 200 series. Done a few things to it since picking it up. Its our second land cruiser, we are a long time 4runner family. We've owned a 60 previously. This new one is an 09 model.

Someone has definitely done it, but unfortunately I can't remember who. Exactly as you suggested, ditching one of the red reflectors.

I did a quick search but didn't come up with anything.. just not using the right terms I guess.

Kaymar’s works by sliding a rod with a tight fit into the rearmost crossmember and then having the hinge come through the reflector hole. There are a few supports for the part bolted to the crossmember I believe. There’s a pretty good install video on YouTube for the Kaymar, to see how it works.

There’s a member here who has a custom one that seems to work similarly. I think @DrivenLyfe maybe.
