Does anyone know if there is a rear sway bar for the 75 series?
After putting a camper box on truck corners feel a bit too interesting.

Or

Maybe upgrading the front sway bar?

Maybe both?

Hello,

There is a rear sway bar for the 78 and 79 Series. I guess it can be retrofitted to a 75 Series.

It is a good chance to replace shock absorbers and bushings.

Hello,

Check "stabilizer bar" in the parts catalog, in the rear axle section.

It is likely that the 75 Series parts are discontinued. However, 78/79 Series parts should fit, maybe with a little fabrication.

A quick check on the parts catalog shows a part number for the bar: 48805-60100.

This bar requires two frame brackets and some brackets, part numbers 48824-60120 and 48829-60070.

Note that the above part numbers are for 78/79 Series trucks.

I would check the frame to determine whether the frame brackets are there. Then I would order the bar and all the other pieces.

thank you for the part numbers. I am sure I will be able to find these at some point.

Is there anyone who is able to take some pictures of their own 79series on how the bar is mounted on both the axle and on the frame.. the more pictures the better.

also I need some measuments on there the brackets is mounted on the frame and axle? Can anyone help?

Just wanted to share a quick update. I got a sway bar kit from Old Man EMU for the first 79 series.
It fits perfectly and a direct bolt on!

Also I does make a difference when cornering.

Gotcha. Thanks!

FYI, if anyone wants this kit, Cruiser Outfitters set me up last week.

Oh I'm sure I will. Having a built 75 with an aux tank gets super tippy in off-camber trails. This will help a lot.

Hi.
yes everything is from OldManEmu
The mounting kit is called FK77 (about 200 euro)
and the sway bar is called OMESTAB9 (about 450 euro)
Thanks for the part numbers! I need the same. I have an HZJ79 with the same rear axle and have had trouble trying to find the parts.

will however recommend that when you have found the correct position for the brackets on the axle housing to weld them on. The one just next to the diff has a tendency to move a little.

Yes. It helped a lot. Totally worth it.

But still need adjustable shocks to slow down the movement side to side.
I've ordered the sway bar and it should arrive soon. Did you fit this yourself? It looks like a straightforward bolt-in. Do you know if the weight needs to be taken off the rear axle to fit it? Or can it be fitted with all wheels on the ground? Thanks!

Yes it is just bolt on and there is no need to take weight of wheels or anything.

It is a bit of work to line up the weird nuts with a handle that comes in the kit. (there is some strange looking nuts wih a handle to mount the brackets to the chassis frame.)

Let us know how it works out.

Great - thanks very much for that. Will let you know how I get on.
