Here is an idea for rear storage, I used the hardware from the third row seats to make a removable storage shelf. It probably could be inproved upon but it works for now. I can mount my highlift jack to it as well.

I like it.

This is a great idea for those that need to keep their 3rd row seats. Get a 2nd set of brackets for the shelf and swap the seats for the shelf when needed. A friend did something similar with aluminum. He built his so there were 2 sides with a brace in the middle. He could put in 1 of the 3rd row seats and have the shelf on the other side, or a full width shelf like yours.

I tossed around the idea of making a split setup but it would have been too complicated to make from wood. I havent seen anyone else make somethig like this before I was hoping that it would inspire someone with good metal working skills to make one from aluminum to save weight. The brackets for the third row are very sturdy, you could probably build something like this and put a rolling drawer on the bottom too.

Thanks for the comment on the dog, she is a great camper. The little one is Ok too.

Hats off to ya, great idea. I haven’t seen anyone take this approach. My real problem with the drawler systems is the added weight of them. Yours is easily removable too, excellent job.

REALLY good idea. I was toying around with kind of the same idea but none of them included using the 3rd row brackets FROM the seats. Nice!

Great idea! Toss a cargo net on top of the shelf to keep items in place and I'd say it's nearly perfect!

A cargo box is in the planning stage and I was thinking about using the 3rd row hardware to secure it in the event of a rollover. I really like the height of yours. I think I'll make it full length, though and just store evrything under the platform and leave the platform for the pooch.
