Need some help locating the part number for the rear sill assembly, 78 FJ40. I can easily find a 79+ but for some reason cannot locate the 78.

If someone has the part number or better yet, a source, that’d be great. Thanks!

Thanks! Whoa, $400!? More than I was thinking/hoping. Thanks for the link though

There are several venders sell these parts Cruiser corp, and I think you can find them on eBay. I need to replace it too.

TROA sells them, need to look up the price but I am a small fry distributor for them and could point you in the right direction.

Conversely, I was thinking of a group buy on some parts to have on hand, these being one of them.

The individual shipping is what kills it for stuff coming from down there.

No makes a 100% style rear sill pre 1/79. This also no longer a cheap hobby. As for square channel versus a complete aftermath rear sill the radius corners of a sill tie rear quarters that support the wheel well and hard top. I have a couple early FJ40 FHTs with rusted rear sills. The latch on the barn doors is what's holding the rear quarters from falling further apart. Especially if running a hard top you want to do the rear sill if your doing more than a Sunday drive to get ice cream.

Is this a joke? a single 33" tire usually costs over $300 these days, the sill is a critical part to the body structure. CCOT is the nicest sill on the market in my opinion

I agree with Cruiser Matt. Buy one from CCOT, it is worth it!

Here is a thread I just made with a "HOW TO" do it step by step.
