Did they come out of the factory with any? if so where were they? what sort? any pics?
Have you rigged up something yourself? pics?
My piggy doesn't have anything but a homemade towbar which i've already removed, so there's nothing to hook up a snatch strap or winch cable to.

Thanks, Dan.

Actually I just found this on Man-a-fre which i will probably end up doing, but any other suggestions are still most welcome.

Dont know of any factory recovery points. Those are probably a good bet with a couple d shackles. I have a couple tow hooks I built in similar to whats on the front but I will be switching to some d shackles at some point.

Old thread re explored

I was searching for weld on clevis mounts/shackle mounts to weld to a bumper and came across this. Anyone have any ideas (I don't have the stock material to make my own) on where to purchase? I've looked at Rockstomper.com but haven't checked local parts houses.

What other sources for these mounts do the knights recommend?

Edit: Did find a lunette eye at Tractor Supply (don't know size but it must be pretty big since rated at 42K lbs) for $47....too big/too much will continue search

Edit II: Did look at IPOR but didn't see anything right off but also haven't called them yet

Really the hook would be simple and unobtrusive but I want to still consider welding mounts on front and back:cheers:

You should be able to have hooks on both sides up front stock I think.

This is mine with the PTO winch and two hooks up front https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala-5.html#post3269758

In stock non-PTO configuration I think you can also have two hooks. Mine had one originally as seen here https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...r-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html#post2500505

My '60 has hooks on all 4 corners.

So Bogus did you fab those and weld on or did you get from a supplier and then weld?

I did see some for sale at 4WD.com.....just wondered where others got theirs for front/back bumpers.

Thanks, Dave

There 1" thick, 3" x12" plate, welded to the bumper where they pass thru. The biggest bitch was drilling the 1" holes for the shackles to pass thru

Rear hooks were an option with all 55's or at least 69-79

Look at this pic and look at the rear left side of the frame. It's not in stock anymore but I bet a front hook could be made to fit there with just an extra hole drilled. They are still available from Toyota for around 30 dollars.

I've got hooks on the front but want to add the clevis (plural) too since they look ...at least to me. Hope to drive my rig next week!!
