couple of light bulbs went out on my LC100, one on the trunk hatch that folds down and the other on the body itself, how easy is it to access the bulbs to replace? I don't see an easy way typically found on some other cars, do I need to remove some panels? The light housing seems sealed pretty good..

Access to the lights is behind the interior trim panels. Be careful when removing them. The trim panel clips have a bad habit of breaking or flying into a space time continuum never to be seen again.

Followings are for a 2000 land cruiser

To access the tail gate light bulb, remove the panel and then unscrew three Phillips screws to access the bulb holders. When you are removing the panel, use a long screw driver and try to reach the locking plastic tab and then pry to minimize damage to panel/tab

To remove the taillight on quarter panel; remove two bolts and then, you need to give a gentle tap on the housing from tail gate door side to outwards to like the blind-spot area(NOT directly towards rear)

use OEM bulbs (KOITO is the brand) and replace all the light bulbs and forget all for another 20 years. NEVER use aftermarket as you'll be replacing bulbs in every 4-5 months.

I even removed the housing and washed inside with water/soap and allowed all to dry for about week. All the lights look brand new again!
