Concerning Rear heaters:

Was this a factory option? Was it a "Desireable" option? Do you freeze in the 40 without it? If you didn't have one, what was there?
What does having one/not having one do to the relative value of a 40?

Also, how was the white part of the roof attached to the top of the windshield from the factory? I saw a picture that made this one look like it was bolted together. Totally wrong right? Post a picture of your roof!

Thanks!

Heater : I have had one in my 40 since i got it back in the 80's. Never turned it on but a few times. Finally pulled it out for the extra room back there. I run a soft top on mine so not needed down here unless you live in Boone or higher.

The windshield piece on the front of the hard top is riveted to the top along the front abd 8 inches in from the very leading front edge. That is then bolted to the windshield frame by 2 bolts .

Yeah, the heat coming from the transmission tunnel and firewall is by far, hotter then the rear heater!

I have one in one of mine, but won't look for one for my project...

I got the catalog from SOR just so I could 'label' parts...they do exploding diagrams which are pretty helpful. I just don't generally BUY from them (overpriced)

Sent from my EVO using IH8MUD
