Not long ago I started looking for a rear slider for my FJ45. This adventure took me though four dealers that all but one said could not help me. The one that was promising with a 95% chance of building a window to the specifications I gave them for the Toyota FJ45 was C.R. Laurence company.
Several emails were sent back and forth by myself and the salesman from C.R., were all was looking very good until I was asked to fill out a business request for wholesale persons. Well that ended that as they rejected my request due to the business I am in (flying) was not in the glass or automotive realm for wholesale. One has to be in the a business that mirrors theirs such as Land Cruiser parts.
So I did my best to achieve a building of a newer style rear slider for the old FJ45.
Wait - its not over yet, if anyone who is reading this and is in the BUSSNESS that will correspond with their needs, you will be able to receive a quote just as I would of had. All one has to do is go to the C.R. Laurence web site and follow their format for requests. Its the best chance we FJ45 owners have. I will be happy to invest in a window being made, and maybe that person who takes this on would put the word out to others for orders for others. C.R. Laurence stated that they can make 1-50 windows, obvious the more the better deal.

How has this not got picked up by someone? I am part of an llc that's in the fab business. I wonder if we would fall into wholesale?
 
Rear window just fading away

Well I am not sure why it has not been picked up. I found it to be very easy to get the company to work with me up until they said I was not retail business qualified. So if you have a retail business I would think one can pick up were I left off. Again, you can have one made or 50 made. I know that beside myself a lot of 45 drivers would love the installation of a rear window for the summer months. I hope someone picks up on this.

RustyNailJustin, you do understand this was for building of a sliding window and not for the reproduction of the window rubber. Also the sliding window was for the newer style one peice not the older split window all tough it may be possible for them to be built also. Unfortunately one would have to use the window rubber on hand. I have no problems with someone taking over the negotiations to have some windows made. That would be a big step for the 45 owners. As for the window rubber as I remember there is a company in China that does reproduction of auto window seal and rubber, I just do not know the name. A web search may turn them up.
