Get 2 - 1/4-20 Drywall Toggles with Bolts (see pic), Vise, Hack Saw, Chainsaw File and Screwdriver that Matches Toggle Bolt, Alex Plus or Similar Silicone.

  • If your Pull Handle Has Not Pulled Off yet it will.

  • This method is Cheap & Maintains the OEM Look.

  • I used a Bench Vise to Hold the Handle Mounts while I sawed - Too hard to Saw and Hold at Same Time.

Top Tab - Saw (Hacksaw) or Break off if not Already Broken - Both Sides

Bottom Tab - Saw Half Way Off.

Using 3/8" Chainsaw File Make a Round Groove in Mount (see pic) to Fit Bolt

Fit 1/4 Toggle Nut with 2.5" 1/4-20 Bolt.

Push Toggle in Square Hole of Door and Tighten Bolts

Put a Dab of Silicone in Bolt Cover and put on.

10 Minute Task

**Use a Washer in Spring Loaded Hinge to Hold it open while you work.

Good save!

Mine won't fall off. Para-cord handles held on by threaded steel tabs now...

...But I was told it's a useless mod and there's nothing wrong with the OEM.
I was so close to getting Paracord but a tan one was hard to Find. That’s when I looked into this.

Tru dat. I used soft Jeep grab handles when they used to be like $10 for the pair on Amazon. Then got hardware from Home Depot.

Thx for the fix. Did it today. Great fix!

The Ohana handle is the paracord, metal plate, and drywall toggles. I've got one
I had no idea it used Drywall Toggles.
Paracord or Plastic both Work Fine.
