Rear differential up and down movement (1 Viewer)

Hey guys I have this play on the rear diff doing my pinion oil seal, is it too much play and need new bearing / rebuilding?

I just replaced it and it’s still leaking

without the flange and nut to get it all tight it will move around

^^^ that's the right answer. When you remove the flange you're removing all Pinion preload, and that impacts backlash because the Pinion moves inwards.

Factory crush spacer, you gotta be careful reinstalling the companion flange so you don't mess up preload. Same number of turns on the nut kind of thing.
