My rear cupholder is broken and it is driving me crazy. the one that pops out of the center armrest got kicked and the internal part that flips and folds got broken. The dealer says that i need a whole new armrest and wants $$$ for it. any ideas or has anyone else had this problem with a solution

Thanks in advance

middle row pop-out cupholder

Double check that advice by contacting Cruiserdan on this forum. J

I already talked to Cruiserdan for the same problem.

Mine is an LX, but I doubt there's much difference.

As I remember, cost to us is something like $40+S/H.

I haven't ordered it yet, and I have no idea how to remove the current one (still broken), let alone install the new one, but at least the part isn't too pricey.

I know I have the part number to order around here somewhere, I'll look for it.

Do it! Crap...I paid $60 for the cupholder to add to my LX450. That's a rip off. It hardly holds a dwink! :D

LX470Pilot, do you have the part number for ivory color?

Be a Camel

This part is broken in my 99LC also. So... What is the fix? Do you have a PN for the inner track that this POS rides on? That is what broke on mine.

Hey, I have a better solution. No drinks in the back seat. And stuff a box of Kleenex in the gaping orifice that once held the cheeeesy drink holder. Yeh that's it.

...or possibly put an AC adapter in there and make a panel with plugs

...or get two of those cup holders that flip down for the 3rd row on the left side. You could make a panel with two of those screwed onto it, and then you could just flip each cupholder open when needed...i think those ones back there are better then the 2nd row slide out crap.

I don't know about the rear cupholder rails (mine are broken too). But, thanks for reviving an old thread because of the suggestion earlier in it to install a panel, inverter, and AC outlet there. I've been trying to figure out where to do that and for those of us who don't need a cupholder holder, that's a GREAT spot. If it wasn't so cold in garage right now, I'd go do it tonight!

Reviving an OLD thread . . . my rear seat center console cup holder won't stay shut . . . looks like it's missing a spring inside the console (there’s a pin that looks like it should have a spring behind it in the middle of the first photo below ). Any standard procedure for addressing this?

Looks like the cup holder is (NLA): 5880360012A0
And the rear console section it fits into is (also NLA): 5890360021A0

I cannot imagine us ever needing it and have half a mind to just seal the thing shut with some high-strength two-sided tape, but wanted to see if there's a fix--I'd just as soon have things working correctly wherever possible.

There's an old thread on here somewhere that shows you how to fix it.

IIRC I think you have to flip the wire thingy upside down.

Thanks! I did a pretty thorough search and found only this thread—if anyone knows of another I’d sure be much obliged!

Thanks! Sorry my search skills are apparently not so strong...

Ps—that’s a helpful link since my front cup holder is acting up too, but my original question was about the rear cup holder (bottom backside of console)....which makes me feel slightly better about my search abilities...

Anyone have a link to anything on the rear one?

My bad @mdcoa - I can't find any of those threads either.

You'll need to pull it out.

I think there are 3 screws that hold it in. One on each side and another in the middle.

Once you pull it out you can see the assembly and possibly how to fix it.

In my rig, it was the wire that I had to bend to make it work again.

Ok, pulled it out—just one screw on each rail. Looks like there’s supposed to be a spring of some sort putting pressure on the swivel-pin that pivots on the gold Phillips head screw in the center of the pic below—behind the cup holder. Can anyone post a picture of what right looks like?

Resurrecting this thread after discovering ivory replacements are NLA—only grey (elephant poaching ban?).
Anyone have a picture of what this mechanism is supposed to look like?
Also open to ideas on how to non-permanently shut this thing to keep it out of the way until I have someone in the back seat old enough to want a drink holder down that low—current occupants are 6 and younger....

My rails was broken on one side and I used some JB Weld to reform the part that was missing and it's been working fine since. Of course nobody actually uses the damned thing. ;)

There should be an interior dye you can get at a pro auto paint shop color matched that you could use to dye a grey panel to ivory. The high quality stuff will do the job, you may ask them for guidance and bring a part in for them to see.

Yeah, and I wonder if I could also just transplant the perfectly fine ivory panel to the new mechanism....
