Rear bumper.... where's your plate?

OK, for anyone who replaced your rear bumper, with something other than OEM (Brentbba ), where'd you mount your plate? (pics please).

Just got my 2nd ticket in a week for a partially obscure plate.

Christo's most excellent rear tyre carrier comes completely equipped with a bracket for mounting your license plate on the tyre carrier with lights and electrical connections. Everything you need for an easy installation. Maybe you can buy just the bracket and wiring.

If C-Dan comes through with his plan, mine might be for sale cheap... at least it will be cheaper than another ticket.

Actually I shifted mine right with a piece of 1" square stock. Driven all over the N. East and down by you. I'll post tommorrow.

I kept meaning to put an extender on mine when I moved it over one bolt hole. It never rattled and I removed the tire carrier before I fixed it right.

Just get a peice of flat steel. Drill two holes in it to mount to the stock location. bolt, ( or giant booger weld for maximum hillbilly effect) the plate to the steel.

And no comments about extenders when switching holes, Junk.

Okay, here is what I did. I purchased Christo's bumper and tire carrier earlier this year and it does come with a bracket that attaches to the bolts holding the tire on. The lights for the plate are these little micro lights that service as license plate bolts as well. However, after some consideration I thought there was a better way. So, I went to a local junk yard and found myself a Toyota Forerunner that had a factory tire carrier. I took the license plate bracket from the Forerunner and refurbished it at home. After some hammering, it bolted perfectly to the bracket that came with Christo's bumper. However, that bracket was to light weight to hold the Toyota bracket. So I had a friend back a heavier steel version of it. The wiring of the Toyota plate holder was re-done with some connections. This combo looks more OEM since the licenses plate holder has Toyota stamped on it in chrome.

It is dark out, otherwise I would run out and take a picture. If anyone is interested, I will take some detailed pictures of all that was done.

I didn't post pics because you can find pics of the Slee license bracket all over the Cruiser forums and on the Slee web site.

The bumper is not, and never will be for sale. However, you *might* get me to part with the license bracket for $50 if C-Dan's plan becomes a reality.

And no, C-Dan's plan isn't a giant license bracket and wheel cover with "Land Cruiser, the Climax of 4 Wheel Drive!"

I'll work on getting pictures today, its suppose to be around 10 degrees outside today, so I might hold off on truly detailed pictures.

As for the 45, I received so pictures of the completed bed from Wayne at Crushersrule.com, and it looks good. There was talk that it might be done by the end of month, but it appears the flue-crud is hitting Canada just like here. Anyway, things appear to be wrapping up and it should be only a matter of time. Now if only that damn exchange rate would come down. Currently at twenty-year highs!! :-[

This is of the bracket that was fabricated to hold the Forerunner plate holder. It is exactly like the one that Christo supplies with the Slee tire carrier, only a heavier metal to withstand the added weight.

This is a profile view. The curved metal is the bracket that held the Forerunner plate holder to the factory tire carrier. I thought about removing this, but it holds the light ensemble and Toyota nameplate to the rest of the plate holder. In the end, I hammered this curved piece only slightly to accomadate the fabricated bracket. It also allows for some added distance to get beyond the tire.
