(Yes I searched) What’s the consensus on why the rear inside brake pad wears out faster than its outside counterpart? I replaced my rear rotors (OEM) & brake pads at 278,458 miles (09-03-2016) and am now at approx 310,200+ miles. Yesterday I heard metallic grinding sound coming from the rear during braking. Pulled the wheel off and found the rear, passenger inner brake pad fully worn down to metal backing while the outside pad hasn’t even reached the low pad indicator. Sucks, as the Cruiser is out of commission until new pads come in. I’ve never greased the caliper pins before and am hoping that’s all that this is; what does the IH8MUD braintrust say? Should I be ordering more parts?

Used to work on cars n lift trucks more and did a sorta brake service. No new parts but clean and grease the moving stuff. Wire wheel or brush what I had to and clean n grease. Keeps em working as they should much longer that way.
Uneven inside outside wear is the caliper not sliding as it should.
