Any one know where i can find one? i have searched every where. man-a-fre used to sell them but are discontuined now. i just got thew doing alot of body work and i didn't want to put back the jump seats.

I saw some one ebay with tool boxes built in a couple of days ago. You might try cruiserparts. net as well. I like mine better than jump seats.

Romer, is yours from cruiserparts?
looks good, hows it bolted- to the wheel wells or to the floor? dont see any floor mounts in the floor in the pic.

ought to make this a sticky tech faq thingy.

Ive wondered what the safest seating option for the rear is. Someone mentioned their kid being in a wreck in a jump seat and messing up their neck. I kind of worry about the bench seatas far as a rear-ender would be concerned as doesnt seem like theres much crush room there.

any thoughts, ideas, facts?

Mine is actually an option provided by Toyota ( am told) and came with the vehicle. It does not mount to the floor. If you look at the arm rests you can just barely see a black plate at the botton. It fits in between the wheel weels and bolts to the wheel well. I would think the bench is safer and easier on the stomache.

also,

the suzuki backseat that flips forward is also an option.

i don't have pics, but i think that if you look up 71rockcruzrryan (or something like that) on pirate4x4.com he has one set up.

if you like that, i'll sell you one (it's in my shed back home), but there are some more options too.

also, other than conferr, there are some other aftmarket h**p ones too.

My dad has one in his 40 and I believe it came from an old bronco. It fits two comfortably and three is a squeeze. I think bench seats are nice for passangers but they stink when you need to haul something. I like to bird hunting and I can't get a kennel in the cruiser if there is a bench seat in there.

Hey guys, I have a mitsubishi montero rear seat in my FJ40. It tumbles forward and folds flat for hauling gear. I bolted it to the floor and the mounts are connected to the frame. If you look in a bone yard it is for the 2 door heep size montero. The raider and montero have the same rear seat. Usually grey or blue. I found mine for $50 and it was perfect. Their is a bone yard in Twin Falls, ID that has one that is grey and in nice shape.

Any photos riddler? I'm especialy interested in how it stores in the up position. Thanks.

No photos yet as it is stored until we get into our new house. But I can describe it clearly. The Mits seat has a lever that allows the seat to tumble up and forward. There is a pin that locks it into the forward position. At the side view the top of the seat sits at about 10pm on the clock so that the entire rear area is clear for cargo. The actual frame of the seat base is still there but the entire seat is just inches above and behind the rear heater in 40.

I can get photo's next weekend when we get to the new house and I get my digi camera from a box in storage.

BTW the C130 is one bad ass machine. I would give all of my 401k to fly that plane. The closest I will get is a crop duster in Pullman, WA.

Deal. I'll trade you my seat in the Herc for a crop dusting job in Eastern Wa. I grew up in Kennewick and would love to get back there. Oh ya, if you want that seat in the 130 you better hurry and get down here because I'm getting deployed again the week after next.

Thanks for the info. I'll look for the pics when you get a chance.
