Rear backing plate removal steps?

I am interested in replacing my rear brake backing plates because mine are badly corroded. What is involved in removing them from the axle? Any special tools required? Any help would be appreciated.

Remove brake caliper, disconnect parking brake cable, remove hub to housing bolts, pull out axle shaft.

when removing the backing plate, can you remove it with all of the parking brake parts still attached to it? I would love that!!
