Realtime question: how to fix rust around windshield??

My windshield is out and the truck is going to a painter today; what types of brand/type primer, paint and hardener etc should I request he use?? A few rust bubbles come beyond the gasket by maybe 3/16 inch so he will have to paint up on the roof and the A pillars. IIRC there was no clear coat originally on white trucks??
