I am finishing up he RDB conversion on my '72 40. The rear is finished and now I'm putting on the MC from a '95 LC. My issueis when I put the MC on, I have to push it on slightly which in turn pushes the push rod in the booster. Do I need to shorten the push rod so it sits there at "rest" or is this ok? What is the correct length?

PigPen,
Yes you need to cut the rod. There should be some free play at rest. The FSM says the free 3-6 mm (0.12-0.23in.)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I now have disk brakes all around and can lock up the 37s!!! :grinpimp:

Look at the shaft. Is it not threaded????

It was threaded at the top, so I screwed it all the way down, but it was still a hair too long so I ground it down slightly. Works like a champ now!

the pedal shaft should be threaded as well..

Great to hear it worked out. Now you need to post some pictures of your install.
