MTB, I have tried the fiber kind, didn't work. I have not tried the rubber o ring yet. A buddy of mine is trying to locate a piggy-back plug for me. Basically it is a little bit bigger than the stock plug. You put that in with thread sealer, essentially rethreading the pan and leave the plug in. There is another smaller plug inside the big one that you drain the oil through. This will be the last resort before changing pans. Will try the rubber first.

Thx about the avatar, I like yours too.

Also, I know I probably won't have a leak free tuck after this, but I am losing two quarts a week.
I had one of those........until i threw it in the trash cause of rocks:hillbilly:

i had some leakage problems due to overtightening the hole. I plugged the drain hole, and used a fine file to smooth out the sealing surface, made a huge difference. I also use the fiber/plastic rings, cheap packs of them at napa, no leaking since then.

I had a similar problem with my oil drain plug dripping unless it was crazy tight. I got two of each of the drain plug gaskets at this website.

Gaskets

I figured I woud try them all and see what the best was. I never got any further than the first try. I used a combination of the rubber/metal and the aluminum at the same time with the rubber/metal one against the pan and the aluminum one against the drain plug. No leaks to date. I also got a drain plug from them too. 18 mm is the size you need to know.

rubber/metal gasket part # 2607
aluminum gasket part # 2406
Drain plug part # 1010
