To make a long story short... very intense wheeling yesterday in VT, winched up a muddy.rocky road, lost rear bumper and bent up front right quarter panel. Oh, and also blew out two tires on the trail.
So, as I put on a spare and aired up enough to get down the mountain the dash light up like a Christmas tree. The ABS, Brake VSC lights are on and there is a constant loud buzz.
I took off all tires and blew the sensors with air hoping this would help, nothing. Disconnected the battery off and let sit for a while and nothing.
My brakes are very soft since this all happened as well. So, I have a 5 hour drive home tomorrow. Any ideas what this is and how I can turn off the buzzing ?

yes, i have some pics to share....as soon as I can I will post winch and field repair pics.

Pull the codes ?

Damaged ABS sensors with the tires? or cut a brake line ?

in order to pull the codes do I need a diagnostic computer ? If so, I dont have one.

This happened to my wife's 100 a few months ago, it was the ABS pump, which is attached to the gold canister to the left of and underneath the master cylinder.

Can you hear the pump running when you start the truck, and then it turns off with an audible "click" from the relay? If it's not running, that's you problem, and it isn't safe to drive 5 hours on.

matador98-thanks for the reply. I didnt hear what you are describing though. But, too late anyway, I just got home from the drive. 5 hours with the constant buzz just about put me in the looney bin ! Tomorrow I will go to a shop to pull the codes. Thanks all !

Thanks 1loudLX. I had to buy four new yokohama geolander's. They were the only tires I could find without having to wait about a week to get them. I dont think I will be looking for any more AT's anytime soon. The next tire will be a MT for sure and just get another set of rims to keep them on. I will post a couple pics of the trail damage ina new thread....

Any follow up on the trouble codes and soft braking?

not yet.. am bringing this to the shop sometime this week to get checked out. I will let you all know about the outcome though.

UPDATE

OK, so just got home from the dealership. Turns out this issue was the speed sensor? Does this sound right? Part was $290.

rear right

Was the sensor trail damaged or a random failure ?

it happened while on the trail, but it may have been going anyways? Not really sure.

Anavant, I have the same alarm sound going off. Did your rig throw a code? I ran my OBD doe codes and nothing appeared? Want to make sure I don't get crushed by the dealer with unnecessary work/expense.
Thanks
