REAL TIME HELP!!! Ignition Housing Broken (1 Viewer)

My truck wouldn't start in Gatlinburg yesterday.....so I had it towed to the Toyota Knoxville Airport Stealership....

They said it would be $550 to install the Ignition Housing (parts, time, tax). The part is about $90. They said it was 3 hours labor.

And it would take a week.....they don't have the part.

Problem is, I live in Memphis!

They kind of have me over a barrel here....Thoughts???

THis is what you need.

5 minute start if your toyota/lexus ignition switch breaks landcruiser lx470

IF you.... like me, have joined the toyota/lexus spinning lock club, and need to get home or get your truck to a place you can fix it... this will get you on the road in 5-10 min. It will take longer to read all the related post to this issue and gather tools, than it will to get on the road...

I got bit by this on my daughters 99. Tow and everything. It was $500. ugh.

Sucks.....mine will top that.....My tow was $175 from Cades Cove to the Knoxville Airport Toyota. Then, the job will cost $500......and won't be ready for about a week....had to order the part. Totally screwed.....

Refuse the work, collect your truck, do the temporary repair in the parking lot there at the dealer to get home and fix it there. Enjoy the satisfaction of driving away with your 15min hack and $500 still in your wallet..
