The only weekend I've got open is Dec 4-6th. so I'm going to Ocala national forest and likely hard rock. the weather is usualy amazing in Dec and i need to get out.. so rain , shine , hail, hurricane, what ever mother nature brings I'm going to get in the forest.. also I might bring a kayak if theres a river involved and warm weather. THE PLAN: arrive friday evening leave sunday mid morning. camping, off roading and weather permitting canoe/kayaking. all are welcome

UPDATE: heres the plan Hard rock off road park friday get there mid day leave sunday morning. if you want more...Sunday I'm going to checking out juniper springs in the Ocala national forest, kayak, lay around, eat lunch etc.

NOTE: there is fun stuff for all the stock trucks and a rock garden/ mud hole for all the people who like to push the limits.

Why Hard rock: Its hunting season, 1) pissing off people with guns in hand seems unwise, 2) confrontation with Park ranger not good Karma (even if were in the right) 3) driving down a dirt road is fun for about 20min then what.. if you have any questions send me a pm.

I'm in Gainesville. I'd like to meet up with you on Saturday if possible. My 40 is lifted with 33s, but is otherwise stock with open diffs. Just let me know if you don't want anyone slowing you down. Thanks, Taro

Don't worry... Dominick is already a bit slow :flipoff2:

Taro you'll be fine. last time i did this at Hard Rock there was everything from stock trucks to purpose build rock crawlers, all are welcome. If you get in something you can't get out of there will be someone there to help you out. Like matt said I'll be there with the only agenda of connecting with other cruisers, getting in the dirt and having fun.

I'm down as long as da Gators rnt in the SEC champship!

i 2x checked with hard rock to make sure the camping/ off road area was available & no event was going on that weekend. staff at Hard rock said no event those dates and wide open for the LC people. 4 1/2 weeks away.... whoa hooo

less than 3 weeks away wooo whoooo. it looks like ill be there around 7:30 fri night (im working fri) in time to set up camp, get a nice fire going and burn some food. exact location of this will be posted the week before as i plan to go out there sometime thanksgiving weekend and checking for our best options. ill also be posting my cell #.. thats right a cell phone !! i will likely have one by then. dominick

just a basic phone to get and send calls. no texting

I don't think they make those anymore.... oh wait, yes they do. It's called a "Grandma Phone"

"Jitterbug" is the service. Comes with a small variety of large-button devices that can just call. My favorite is the "I really can't handle technology" phone:

I have an old flip phone you can have, but good gracious man! Take a small step for your man-kind :) , and get a smart phone. Preferrably a Android versus Apple but I am biased. There are a lot of uses that are redeeming. Texting is also not bad, and keep the number unlisted with no voice mail if you don't want to be bothered. You have the power, just use it for good, think of it as supplemental AAA for when you drive old Landcruisers.

Not to turn this into a cell thread, but...

Motorola Moto G.

Unlocked, $177 from Amazon. Use with any carrier, IP67 (dunk-it-in-the-toilet-proof), fairly rugged - but best of all, you're not spending $600 on a device that you might drop on a rock.

At this price, it's cheaper than a lot of the flip phones! And you own it, so no contract/leasing costs.

Would you guys mind if a new cruiser owner joined you? (I am a long time 4Runner fan that just switched) I have a stock 100 with all terrain tires, that is it! If so, where could I just meet up with you guys on Saturday morning?
Thanks, -Hunter
