Yes it was a very good day on the trails. being Friday and as cold as it was there were not many trucks at Rausch I'd say maybe twenty at most. We had three trucks, Crush with me as apassenger, Vince in his lexus, and Ben with his friend dave in his Tacoma. Good small group of capable trucks and drivers made for a great day. Traction was better than I thought it would be, all three trucks had great tires and Vince really gave his new Toyos a good workout.
Started out down th hill through the old office and staging area, then up past the hillclimbs and took the shortcut to the pole. Ran that a bit and came across a Jeep half submerged in the "mud pit" as it is called on the pole line. he took the left side, historically the deepest channel and got his front eend in and couldn't get out. Crusha tugged him out and got him on his way. We went through the right side, sent Andy first and it was not only almost hood deep but the ice was three to four inches thick! Very interesting, I have a video that i will try to post.
From there we did trail P, then out toward the South property and ran Topless for tatas, fun in the snow. We then went back onto E then down one of the hillside descents to H, then down into all the #12 trails. Did 10 which was a real hoot in the snow and ice, then 10B, 23, and 15. Back up H, up over the hillside climbs and onto trail B. Did 2, went past the frog hole for the first time in years, over the little hill adjacent to frog hole then back out to the pole line, a few more little challenges then out to the staging area to air up. By the time we finished for the day (around 2:15) it was very windy and temps around 32 degrees.
All in all a very good day no breakage no frostbite and no wet feet!
