I'm wondering if anyone has run into this. Something is loose and rattling in my sunroof. It kind of comes and goes but right not it's pretty annoying and I'd like to track it down. The sound goes away with the sunroof either open or tilted up. Is there an easy way to access up in there to see what it could be or what is going on?

Did you tighten the four bolts under the the trim pieces on either side? Easy place to start.

which trim piece are you referring to?

On the glass panel there's a plastic surround that's held in by clips. The side trim comes off and you'll have access to the four bolts. I'd take a picture but don't have access to my truck right now.

My 2000 LX had a rattle in the sunroof. It sounded like a hollow plasticky sound. It turned out to be the black plastic trim frame that goes all around the inside/underside of the sunroof. The plastic frame attaches with snap clips into the metal slots, but must have become loose over the years. I couldn't find any way to tighten it, so I searched around my garage, and found some of that thin rope weather-caulking in black. I pushed that caulking into the space between the plastic frame and the sunroof glass, using a flat and rounded edge. Then, I pushed the plastic frame, to squeeze it against the caulk. No more rattles!
