I would inspect all the accessories on the front of the engine including the clutch fan. Remove the belts and turn each pulley by hand. Hopefully you find the issue there.

I may have the same thing but would describe it as a shudder. However, I noticed while in park and revving the engine up to 1500rpm to check the generator/alt.
When I would let go, I'd hear a quick shudder. That makes me think not spindle bushing so I will start by lubing driveshaft? Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Quick question, how has your transmission been working? The reason i ask, even while in park your torque converter is spinning. While it's not a very common failure, but if the torque converter is looseing a vane/coming apart internally that can cause a shudder.

Mine was making a noise on deceleration, especially when turning off the highway onto an exit ramp. It turned out to be low power steering fluid. Maybe not your issue but worth a quick check.

Thanks for some possibilities. I haven't driven it much in the last three months but soon as I deal with my starting issue, I will have some more info. I haven't noticed any transmission issues but will pay attention. I have what may be a slight transmission pan leak (no drops on the ground) and as part of baselining the rig was trying to decide between a simple drain/refill or flush.
As for the flex plate...I'll have to pull out my FSM. Will also check power steer fluid - thanks.
