Posting for a buddy who bought an early 60's FJ40 that had a ton of parts in the tub including this bench seat. Looks to bolt to the top of both the the wheel wells (not jump seat). It seems to be the full width of the tub.

Rare find or junk?

Doesn't look like anything I have seen from a FJ25 or early FJ40. The rear jump seats in the FJ25 had two arm rest as high as the back. The bench seat that the FJ25 used into 1959 had four feet and didn't have hinges to fold up. It also bolted to the floor not the wheel wells.

Might not be OEM, but it would make a great looking/functional back seat...I wouldn't toss it

The '62 FJ40 I just picked up came with 1 rear bench seat. I honestly thought it was a long jump seat somebody had fabbed to set on the rear wheel wells.

It has arm rest on both ends, but looks like a jump seat.

FJ25 had two arm rests but were as high as the back. The 61 also had two arm rests but were lower like on the rest of the long jump seats. Both these style had a bracket welded to the front of the wheel well for the front leg to bolt to. Does your have these brackets or any sign of it being ground off?

That looks like the first FJ40 jump seat. Any sign of the brackets on the front side of the rear wheel wells?

Rear jump seat front mounting bracket.

If you squint real hard you can see the original green between the burnt sienna and russet hues.

That green is the same color of my '62 (Ugly IMO). Is there a thread with color choices for '62?

I do think there is some remenant left over from jump seat bracket, but truck is not here with me. I will get pics later.

You need to be careful. This is how it starts then next thing you know your having to take your shoes off you count the number of cruisers you have when a calculator isn't handy.

As for your color question this thead has some good information. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-owners-club/119604-fj45lv-colors-holy-grail-2.html The chart towards the bottom seems to have most colors that have shown up on early FJ40s. A couple are using the sulfur yellow which was seen on a 61 soft top in some factory literature. But it seems spring green is the color green we got here in the US. The judson green is closer to what the FJ25s got. THe FJ25 had there own colors.

I spotted this small bracket on front of each wheel well down low almost to bed (hard to see in pic). Diamond plate covering top of wheel well.

I remembered seeing these on both wheel wells, but don't think it is your bench seat bracket.
