So there I was. I went from owning none to two GX 460s. The first one I joked prophetically was a gateway drug, a black 2013 with 142k miles that has the original suspension. So that suspension has to go... and thus my first lesson in parts. Everything in GX land that is aftermarket lifts. I called several vendors before getting frustrated and ordering a bilstein kit, which is only a bit under an inch.

I ordered the bilstein fronts from the ebay storefront of 4wp, because everyone is out of stock. 4wp had them on their ebay store as in stock, which means they actually have them. They arrived Saturday, and I installed them on Monday, and on taking it off the lift immediately noticed a problem. It lowered the truck by about 2 inches. It now bounces like a fool, and turns out, they shipped me the Tundra part under the 4runner part number.

Problem is, nobody has the 6112 for the GX/4Runner, and I am basically stuck until they come in stock. Hopefully 4wp actually does have the right part, but I am skeptical. I am also probably out the money for the wrong part, as I dumbly didn't double check.

Any suggestions on finding the right kit (47-259768)? I've called around, and i am seeing dates like 'October'. This puts me back at square one. I did get a line on the dobinsons to be at approximately stock ride height, but those are even more $$$.

You didn't save your old shocks to put back on?

Why not go back too stock while you wait, especially instead of considering a stock height aftermarket setup. I know you said it’s 150,000 old but was it good enough to make it a several months?

Heck, I’ve been debating taking my Dobinsons kit off and going back to stock height due to expecting our first kid and the wife complaining about the height.

Tbh, it's a third car, and doing this work once (I guess twice) is more attractive than redoing it again. << (edited, said 'it's' before which)

I am considering other options, rancho, dob, etc. Trying to figure out what my return status is, or if I just sell them on a tundra forum, etc.

One of the stock shocks had to be cut off the end, either cross threaded or just rusted into one, so I only have one.

Okay, so I'm a little off post, but just a quick note for something cheaper than having to put shocks on because of the wife and kid. And BTW, congrats on your newest addition! to your family!
I keep one if these in my rig all the time!

Helps my wife when stepping onto the rear bumper to tuck the roof top tent away. Instead of kneeling or sitting on the ground, I use it as a stool when I'm airing up my tires! Or anytime you need to be in a low position for any length of time and don't want to be on your knees or ground.
I swear by them. Super sturdy and fold's really flat. A small one will probably fit under your front seat and you can get pink for your wife!

4WP has always been very good, to me, in the customer service department. If they mislabelled the parts, that's on them. If you installed without verifying part numbers, technically that's on you (but don't feel too bad, we all do it). Everyone made a mistake, but I'd bet if you reached out to them, they'd work with you towards some fair solution.

Are you down to buy a used Dobinsons 2-3" lift setup, 15K miles on it, with JBA UCAs :hmm:

By no means an I saying that it is their fault.... The resolution issue is all about availability. They don't have anything until September. I found them at wheelers off-road, which answers the phone really quickly.

Overall, I learned a ton about the vehicle, which is good as I now have two of them. I'm generally impressed and will shortly post the other projects progress. Probably well known but I can confirm that a 2013 and 2016 have exactly the game inner dimensions at the third row.

Sorry on the dobs, I'm not dedicated to the billies but I had the rears come in, so I wanted to match up. Rears kinda sucked to put on!
