Are you talking about something like this John?

That is a damn nice setup. Wish I'd ordered both hy-steer arms like that - makes it much simpler and obviously more efficient stronger. Easier than fitting behind the axle with the 4x4 labs tie rod behind the axle.

Poser, what's the reason for the tubing welded to the axle housing below the ram? Is that just for protection of the ram itself?

You bet, Miker.

Rocks are very unforgiving. I did not think that it would be wise to have a hydraulic steering assist cylinder on point, without at least an attempt to protect it from being smashed to s***.

Well , my front cover is removable. Go ahead , flame away.

I mounted Radar Absorbent Material to my differential covers after seeing this thread - but I don't think it's going to make any difference because of the high radar cross section of the rest of the truck....

Maybe this topic deserves another thread...

Yeah , WTF
No Pat , the caps are sweet . I gotta do the back still.
I am just trying to see if there is a history of anyone doing this who could say what their experience was . Anywho , it aint runnin with a ram till the new pitman gets here from partsmike and the box gets tapped.
Only thing I see Pat is possibly a 1/4" shorter at the feet , so the front just clears the hump in org. cover. Mine came in real nice. Does sac. a little clearance going in tho.

I don't know anything about removable covers on the front but on the BJ42 I did I simply welded a tab into the indent between the side of the cover and the hump where the ring gear is. It is a sprung under rig with a 2.5" lift.

The ram connects to that tab. I'll snap a close up picture this weekend.
