@Slow Paddler asked for more information about this.

I removed the lower cover and bolt from the a-pillar grab handle, and replaced it with a Ram ball mount.

I had the ball mount and a bunch of parts from former motorcycle projects.

I think the ball mount was one of these: RAM-B-367U

I grabbed a longer bolt and a spacer from my parts bins. The bolt is 55ish mm long and the spacer is about 15ish mm long (most likely something sae sized from the hardware store). And a washer.

From there, add arms, connectors and mounts for your specific device.

I used two arms (RAM-201U), plate (RAM-B-202U) and a barbell connector (RAM-B-230U) from my parts pile, and a ipad mini specific mount (RAM-HOL-AP20U).

The spacer could be slightly longer, but works fine. I'd add a dab of blue loctite (about to do that now) since it rattles loose under hard impacts when off-roading.

Nice setup.. no fun saying this but I’d put some thought on how what’s hanging on there could fly off in case the a-pillar airbag deploys. I think it comes out towards the driver side of the a-pillar trim cover

Yep, probably something worth considering.

@CharlieS Fantastic! Thanks so much. Funny thing is, is that I have two of these mounted in my squaredrop trailer with phone and tablet mounts on them. Never crossed my mind that the same thing might work in the LC.

Here's the direct link on Amazon: Amazon product ASIN B005J43I56
