The NJ history is just such a killer. Especially for informed shoppers who will be looking for pictures like you posted.
I think it comes down to whether your time is worth the extra couple of thousand dollars you might net from a private sale.
There's a certain amount of relief in just throwing the keys at the used car manager.
On the downside, the truck will probably be bought at auction and then flipped with some bondo on the upper hatch and a box full of black rattle cans for the underside.
Disclosure: I'm shopping for a 100 in that price range, and wouldn't be interested in yours due to the hatch and 12 years of NJ exposure.
EDIT: Wanted to add that the chassis isn't even that bad. My LX was much worse after 10 or 11 years here in northern VA. But It's not going to get any better. And the innards of the upper hatch have likely got the cancer.

I honestly thought the undercarriage wasn't "that" bad. I suppose it's not a FL, TX, Cali car, but I have seen much worse in these forums.
