:bounce:We have a green light for the Raffle Truck Work Day at Iron Pig Off Road on Saturday (4/30) starting at 9am.:pig:

 I assume there is a contingent that is willing to meet us at the Cracker Barrel on Rt. 234 and I-95 around 7:30am.

:steer: If you are planning to take away parts to refurbish at home, please come with a container to keep everything together.

:wrench: Bring hand tools if you have them, preferably marked so you can identify what's yours at the end of the day.

I'll be taking inventory as the parts come off so make sure you check-in with me before you leave so I know what is going where and with whom so I don't waste time looking for it later.

I'll try to russle up some food...maybe someone with a pick-up has a grill we can use?

Thanks everyone!

Jon

We have a gas grill and Cam has agreed to dose her down with Kroil/PB-Blaster a couple of times this week so get your tools in a bag and steal a few med-large plastic storage bins from the :princess: and head down to IPOR next Saturday.:wrench::wrench::wrench:

Please post-up so I can get a headcount. Also, please let me know if you can bring drinks, chips, paper plates, condiments, etc.
:popcorn::beer:
The Raffle Truck is inside at IPOR so this will be a work day, rain or shine. If the weather is good, we will also start striping parts off the donor truck as well (we already know quite a few of the parts that will be needed).

I'm in Pa till the 1st so i'm going to miss it.

That's too bad, who will use the blue-tipped wrench?

Also, just so you know, whoever doesn't show for the Work Day gets to do all the bodywork that noone else wants to do! :D :bang:

John,
I don't mind body work. You have not seen the body work on my junk up close yet have you!

Is that why you are such a master....the torch is the only bodywork tool you ever use (other a BFH)?

I will bring drinks and chips and t-shirts, looks like we need enough stuff for two or three people so it should be easy.

I'll bring money for the two XL shirts I ordered. I'm willing to sell club shirts at GSMTR if the club is interested. Also, does anyone know who has the club banner? I thought I would take that to GSMTR

Right now it's up in the air, might have to work. Hoping that I can get it to a point that I won't need to be there.

I'll be there. I can see if I can squeeze my grill in the truck. I'll have to check.

Cam says they have a grill at IPOR, thanks anyway.

THANKS to Tracy (SAS), his son TJ, Steve (TRFCSUX), Bart (Von Hayek), John Smith and Chris (topherbecker) for putting in a good days work on both trucks. Thanks also to the guys at IPOR: Vince (Screwball), Cam (smtyblt) and John Embry for their expertise and patience.

I will try to get a few pics posted. We got a lot done on the Raffle Truck and decent start on the Parts Donor.

One things was made very obvious while stripping the parts truck, we are going to need a JIS bolt kit for most of the truck. Donor truck bolts were no problem, but most of the hard ones have already been removed and did not come with the truck.

We pulled tranny/t-cases out of both trucks and John Smith has taken the Raffle Truck tranny and transfer to rebuild as needed. We really need for other vendors and clubs to step up and donate rebuild kits and such so the entire burden doesn't fall on CLCC, IPOR and Mark's Off Road with a few noted exceptions (thank you 76FJ40, Troll Hole, Waytovich, and Beno).

The wiring harness and all electrical parts have gone to emorth (a.k.a. Professor Ed) for assessment.

Von Hayek (Bart) has one heck of a lot of stuff destined for the media blast cabinet that will keep him busy and out of trouble untl the new baby arrives.

I have the parts we've gathered (so far) that are going to Marshall at Troll Hole.

The tub is ready to come off, and we decided to leave the axles on the chasis for now so IPOR can move the truck more easily. Tracy is going to attack the axles as soon as we get a couple of axle rebuild kits donated. ANYONE?

I'll be making an appeal to the TLCA Board now that we have kicked off the project in earnest. It's time for the other clubs to step up. We are in need of donations of parts kits or funds to purchase kits needed to rebuild axles, H42 tranny/4-speed t-case, 2F (maybe a rebuild kit, but certainly will need new valve cover, side plate, manifold, waterpump and t-stat gaskets).

Thanks again guys!

It was great to see everyone yesterday at Iron Pig for the work day. Thanks to Cam and Vince for hosting us. Chris, it was nice working with you on the parts truck. If anyone found a 12mm wrench like in the set below please let me know. Otherwise, it is either under or in the truck outside Dan donated and I will find it next time I am down.

And now the bad news...

I should have followed my instinct and brought both transmissions home. I thought it odd that the raffle truck tranny was dribbling thin oil out the input while on the floor at Iron Pig. I figured it was overfilled.

It was, with water. Luckily when Chris drained the tranny and transfer from the outside truck it was full of good old gear oil so we should be fine with that one. What was the consistency and amount of fluid you guys drained from the transfer case on the inside truck? I think I may grab a beer and head back out to the garage and pull the cover off the transfer case for a peek.

John, I was present when Chris drained the oil from the Raffle Truck transfer case; I can't speak as to what volume came out, but what came out appeared good--color and consistency.
