Beer done, I am happy to report that the transfer case is a completely different story. The gears have some wear, but it looks a lot better than the tranny.

Man i had a good time yesterday. Its really fun pulling parts and tearing down a truck.

I only drained the transfer case from the west coast truck and didn't notice anything unusual (although I wasn't reAlly paying attention though either). I have no clue how much oil was in there; just pulled the plug and left it to drain.

Nice meeting you too, john.hope your wrench turns up...

It stinks that I had to work Sat. Sounds like a lot got accomplished. I believe I've got some 2F engine gaskets, not sure if I have them all. Wouldn't it be better to get the engine back in the truck and get it running to get a better idea of what it needs done to it? Also Steve dropped off the parts, I'll get working on those.

Thanks Tom!

We didn't want to lose the day trying to get the motor started so we left it in the truck for now to make it easier to work on (can't tie-up an engine stand). We removed the radiator, coil and alternator so those will have to be put back, along with rigging a fuel supply.

Definitely. When do you want to go down and commence the operation?

Jon

Can you plan on bringing it to IPOR on the 21st? There will be no spinning without the rest of the drivetrain, but we might get it to rumble a little.:wrench::wrench:

We've still got the carb and rad, too bad someone let out all the rad juice onto the floor

...don't need the alt just to get it running
