I would add that if your not comfortable with doing this then have the mechanic that lost your ATF in the first place take care of it... seems like the least they could do as they were not careful enough to capture the fluid or plug the lines. Have them finish what they started.
Also, as stated above if you feel a problem take care of it for sure. I initially didn't expect that much was lost but now I would park it until corrected.

Thank you all for the help and correcting the info provided.
i didnt notice the problem until the other day, the jerking doesnt happen so often plus i drove it less than 20 miles.

i have added the atf now just waiting for fluid temperature cool off then will do the last step.

Thank you all again

Finished the job as its supposed to. Following all the presedures with leveling and temp. Went for a drive and the shuddering happened twice in the first 5 mins then I drove back and forth for like 10mins and it stopped shuddering.
Do u think the first one was because the adjusting oil inside the trans and after it got thru got smooth? I drove it only for 15 mins

OMG. How much is the truck? The worth of that 'mechanic' is obviously on a different scale. if it were me, I'd go to my dealer and pay ~ $200 for the lesson.

well it is all good now.

i knew the issue was with atf fluid. i just didnt know how to add and level the fluid.
