Well, I found the reason for my recent rise in temperature and roughness in the 60. My radiator has a small hole in between the fins on the back side of the rad.

So, I am going to replace it. What would you guys recommend as an aftermarket replacement? I went to Man-A-Fre, but don't really want to spend $495.

Are there cheaper options in the aluminum rad. family? Would OEM be better or cheaper?

Thanks.

I found an aftermarket rad. at CCOT for $228 (+ $52 for a 4-hose set). The OEM is $525. If the aftermarket performs as well as the OEM, I'd much rather spend the lesser of the two. This one isn't aluminum, but the price is right.

JT Outfitters has what looks like an aluminum rad. for $209. Looks pretty nice, too.

Anyone have experience with either of these? I need to order ASAP.

Thanks.

look at jegs and summit, they have good Al rads for under 200 bucks, I have one in my 60, had to make some custom mounts and trim the battery tray, and I need a bigger E-fan, but it keeps the 350 cool enough as long as its not too hot outside.

I'd take it to a radiator shop and see if it could be rebuilt.

I'd be more comfortable just buying a new one. In fact, I just ordered the CCOT aftermarket replacement. Comes with a free OEM radiator cap and a free hot girl poster. Good enough.

The direct bolt-in makes me happy too.

Thanks for the replies.

I have used 3 of the rads from Performance Radiator, 1 in the 60, 1 in the 62, 1 in the 82 fj40........all are the same or better than OEM, $180-ish

CCOT Radiator

I have the CCOT radiator in my truck. Only complaint I have is the hard 90 deg angle of the fill neck. Difficult to top off without overflowing. Other than that I've been running it for 2 years without issue.

I used these guys..no problems, reccomended.

I was doing research on this a little while ago and found lots of recommendations for radiator.com and radiatorbarn.com. You can get them for $200 with a lifetime warranty.

Try a local radiator shop or auto parts store. Most places i called including Napa could get one in three days. I went to a local radiator shop. They ordered one and had it the next day. It was stamped made in Malaysia, but was only $189. Just like the original.
