I bought my first radar detector many years ago, and ever since I would feel naked driving without one. It was finally time to upgrade so I splurged on the Escort Max 360. This detector was special so I wanted a no compromise mount for it. I wanted it mounted high, centered, solid(no suction cups), and the ability to still use sun shades. With the help of the forum and some members I came up with this.
I believe it should work on all years 98-07 and on all Escort detectors.
A friend and fellow 100 owner has a Valentine One and I plan to create a similar mount for him.
How many of you guys would be interested in a mount like this for Escort radars?

I stopped using radar detectors years ago and you know what? I stopped getting speeding tickets.

A cop friend of mine told me that if you have a radar detector you are guaranteed to get a ticket no matter what.
Lost the radar detector...stopped getting tickets.

So no, I am not interested in your radar detector mount, but others might be.

I am definitely interested in a Valentine One mount. When I purchased my 2001 LX 470, I looked around to purchase one just like yours.

Radar detectors are kind of a thing of the past.....most law enforcement around here use lasers.

That is true. If you hear the laser warning go off it's too late.

However, where I drive (very few straight roads) the police patrol with K or Ka band on constantly which makes them easy to spot and do a speed check. I use my Passport mostly for the accurate speed display but also because it's very easy to be going 10 over in these well-insulated vehicles and not notice.

I like that mount!

My 100 can't get out of its own way; exceeding the speed limit is not an issue with my truck.

That said- you might multipurpose your mount to accommodate a dash cam. More useful to me than a radar detector.

Check out radarmount.com or search on Amazon. I also have escort 360. I have radar mounts and pig tail on ISF and RX 350 and debating on putting it on the LX. So depending on which car we are taking on a long distance driving then the radar gets move into. Pig tail utilizes the existing mirror wires to power radar detector. There are other mount options as well. Most of the the time the radar detector is on the ISF.

I was just about to that same thing. Speeding isn't an issue in my 98 LX. That mount could work for things like my ScangaugeII, dash cam or even the remote faceplate for HAM radios

This is the mount that I wanted with the mirror power tap but, they didn't have one for my LX 470.

I have a V1 that I use between my vehicles, I rarely use it in the 100 as its a pig....at times I take it on long road trips, but honestly Waze has been more helpful

Agreed on this. Waze is king in traffic in most areas. The radar detectors are great out in the country, but even with the latest filtering on the V1 it had far too many false alarms to be useful, IMO. I bought one just this year, used it on one cross country sprint and sold it right after.

Definitely would be interested in a Scan Guage version of this mount.

If you have been stung by a small town speed trap it is worthwhile to have a warning device. It could be the car in front of you that gets the ticket so you get a warning ahead of time. You will learn the false alarm areas if you travel the same routes.

You only need to be a few mph over the limit to fork over $2-300 bucks. Some towns purposely drop the limit for no apparent reason. Unless you reside in Virginia or Connecticut I would say it is cheap insurance.

Since I have CDLs and only allowed 1/2 the points of a normal license, I will take any help that I can get. I use Waze, Valentine One and etc. together.

Before any asks, I am not using a Radar Detector in a commercial vehicle but, the BS point restrictions apply in any car and most commercial insurance companies have even stricter guidelines than the CDL requirements.

P.S. My driving record is perfect with no speeding tickets in over 10 years and never caused a wreck in my 30+ years of driving.

Detectors should be supplemented with a laser jammer. If you understand how they work and how to use them they can be effective against laser threats as well. As far as false alarms, Escort has had a GPS logging feature for a while now so its no long an issue. Valentine has been king for years, but ever since they lost their directional arrow patent I feel Escort has surpassed them.

It will easily work with a Scangauge. I happen to have one in the Jeep! I'll see what I can do and report back.

Have you made any progress on a mirror mount?

This thread takes me way back.

I think I gave away my last detector shortly after buying my 100 - 15 years ago!

If I recall, it was one of the original little passports. That was a well built little piece.
