Sitting in the driveway looking at possibilities. Any photos you have are appreciated.

Here is the bracket Metal Tech supplied. Not sure how/where this attaches.

Ya, those wont work Rob. Tried a number of times to mount the remotes on the frame and you get rubbing no matter what. Buy a set of these from MetalTech and you'll be choppin in tall cotton.

Actually I was able to get them to not rub using the bracket that Oregon lc posted. I did however have to bend the bracket inboard and slightly adjust the bump stops while using the tires in my sig. I recently removed my radflos though.

I just drilled into the shock mount. Drill and anchor the top bolt first. Then square it up and drill through the lower hole. You may need to clock the elbow at the top of the shock to get the hose to route correctly.

I asked LT like 3 times about the brackets blah blah blah... how does this vertical bracket mount to the chassis?

Where I am today:

Duratrac 285/75-16... Full lock

Is that at full lock? I can't believe you have that much room. Even with 1" spacers I would rub.

That's static. Not sure under off road conditions how that would play.

What are you bolting the bracket to?

I started with the Metal Tech mounts and always had rubbing. I finally got most (99.9%) of the rubbing eliminated with the mounts RobRed has now. I will try to take a pic tomorrow. I went round and round with rflo and MT about the fitment. They blamed it on the rims, blah, blah. Hope you got the extended version, front and rear of the rflos.

FWIW I could never get adequate clearance, without limiting the turn radius/steering stops, with my Fox remotes mounted along the front frame rails...

After messing around with where to mount them I finally tack welded a couple short pieces of angle steel to the front side of the UCA brace (see Dennis' post #2 for position) and used two ss screw clamps...been there for 6+ years now with no problem and no rub even with full lock to lock (285/75R18's with 10mm spacers, LC/Tundra wheels).

Dan,

Until your smog post I didn't realize you were not in Nevada any longer. Since you are somewhat local to me (I'm in Los Gatos) I might have to come see you (and your welder) in your new location.

It sounds like there is a wide variance in location results. I've seen a lot of these in the location I have mine zip tied to but just as many in the vertical orientation from Oregon and your description. Seems vertical would offer the best positioning.

I had the opposite experience. No matter how many different ways I tried using that crappy bracket, I could never get things to not rub. Once I got the mount Robred has all my rubbing went away.

Sorry for the dark image. It is starting to get dark outside. I have Zero Rubbing with 295 BFG's. Hope this helps.

Are they 35s? With the RadFlo bracket (the black one) and no spacers I couldn't even get out of the driveway. Tried again with 1" spacers and it still rubbed. In fact it rubbed on the TC UCA without the spacers. Used the MT brackets and all is happy

Did you weld the bracket to the frame?

Varying tires sizes definitely can affect things. Both me and Blue worked through this around the same time. Neither of could get it to work with with the Mt mount, 1 14" spacers, and 33's and 35's. But it works now. More than one way to skin a cat.

Rob, i used self taping screws.

Did you have it where I mounted mine? I got the location from a post LT made when they first came out?

Just for reference for others, post 8 here was LT's mounting location.
