Too far north. Too far east.
Isn't this beautiful?

That is a work of art!

NICE!!!
I thought you had one already?

Yep, I do. But it is making noise at the input bearing, and since it was an unknown boneyard tranny I decided to start with a nice new piece. Mine goes back to Marlin on exchange.

Dude,

You seriously need to get a girlfriend, just say'n.......

That tranny will help you get the odometer up towards that 1 million mile mark...

It is very pretty - maybe you can display it on your coffee table for a while before you are ready to install it.

He is not telling us that he's already snuggling with it....

Um, sounds like not only a good idea ... but a selfie opportunity. Maybe I'll even give it a smooch.

Too bad this tranny isn't as sexy on the inside as it is on the outside. It doesn't work. The shifter won't move. Of course, I trusted them and didn't check it before I installed it. So, a day in the garage shot to Hades. Makes me wonder if I need to question the rest of the build.

Guess they will be getting call from me in the morning. I hate going to bed cranky.

Any chance that it was in a gear and you are between gears now? Remove the shifter and make sure all of the forks are in neutral.

All I can tell you is the shifter goes into the socket which was centered in the tower.

I'm going to hold off doing anything that requires opening up the case. Even removal of the shift tower. I'll make sure Marlin knows what's going on (I already posted up to their forum) before I do anything. I want him to tell me what to do.

I don't blame you

Bummer - please keep us posted.

I called them this morning. It's possible the fix is easy. They ship the tranny in reverse, and they have had the fork slip in transit. I need to lower the tranny, remove the reverse light switch, and move the fork/rod with a screwdriver.

Donedeal. Thanks to Lee and the boys at Marlin the offending shaft has been put into it's proper place. Now, back to the garage. I have work to do.

Nice!

Hmmm:hmm:, Justin is very well rehearsed at selfies...perhaps he could give you some pointers:eek:

Been there and done that on the 2nd Gen 4Runner, wish I had seen this earlier...But congrats on getting it sorted out!:bounce:

Good news!
