checked the PCV hose, the one going from the PCV valve to the intake. It's very hard, doesn't feel soft at all, can't visibly pinch it flatter, feels like metal. This by design or getting old? The one on the other side, the bigger one does feel a tad softer but still nothing like the rad hoses. That one OK?

Also, on the PS reservoir, the side tube that goes down. well the hose that comes on up to attach to the side tube, if you look at the very end, it shows very evenly spaced slits or cuts about halfway through the thickness. Is this normal or is mine cracking?

My PS hose was also cracking same as you describe but no it should not be. You can try trimming some of the end of the line off, you can replace the hose, or you can wait for it to start leaking then replace it. Haven’t done anything with mine yet, actually forgot about it until you said something. I wonder if the rest of the PS hoses are similar? The PS system seams to get pretty hot on these

I would think the PCV hoses are supposed to be softer both of mine were hard and the larger one was cracked. I replaced both.
