Questions about Fuel Separator that is NLA

I have a 74 FJ40 and my fuel separator has several of the hose barbs broken. I have a found a few of them used online, but was curious if people were even still using them.

Is it possible to cap the lines on the tank and run a vented cap?

Is there a another model that is still available that people are running?

Ditto. I have one that is a bit damaged....wondering what its good for. I can buy a used on for $90.
