Hi All,

Loving my '14 LC200. 90 days in and have already done a 2k mile road trip and it was a dream!

My question is regarding the passenger interior door handle circled in the photo attached. It needs swapped due to some scratches from a ring. Nothing major. The part runs about $20, which is awesome.

My question (neither local dealer could answer) is whether this simply is swapped via clips, or if the entire panel has to come off to attach the new plastic trim, or whether it's a simple clip in / out situation.

The difference is whether this is a $25 job or a $100+ job at the dealer.

Any insight is appreciated. For $100+ I'll just leave it as it's not a big deal, but for $25 or so I'll swap it on my next service.

Thx in advance!

I pried it off with a plastic knife and replaced with same. not a problem -- just go slow!

What a coincidence. Happened to me to (PAX side). $30 (tax + shipping) ordered at the dealer. Drove it in and the technician pryed it out and snapped in the new one in a couple of minutes. Quite a few clips in there. Just watch out when you pull out the bottom part of 'C' trim plate as it butts up against the trim plate (that houses the window switches). You don't want to damage another trim plate in the process of removing this one.

They always get scratched... I have just learned to live with it...

Sure is crappy paint on that plastic. Even the faux wood has worn off in quite a few spots too. I got a whole set of replacement silver bits and bobs for the doors and console and will swap them all out one day, perhaps the day before I trade up to the 300.

In the meantime its good to just relax and let the wear and tear have its way. If you were really keen you could spray the plastic trims parts with clear coat or wrap them.

Bringing this thread back to life. Does anyone have part #'s? My '14 that I just purchased is literally in pristine condition other than the door handles that each have minor scratches. The drivers rear is worse than the other 3. At $30 each, I would like to replace all 4 which will essentially make the interior like new. Thanks for any insight.

I don’t have a part number, as I’m on my second LX since I had that cruiser :)

However.... the body shop at my local Toyota dealer was able to look it up and order it with no issue. I don’t recall exactly what I paid but it was very reasonable. The only hangup iirc was that there were none in the US at the time, so ordering and shipping took longer than expected....

Good luck!

Tony, thanks so much. I have plastic trim panel tools and was wondering if there is any trick to popping the original one's off?

Any instructions on the rear doors. They have tabs not clips. Still use plastic tools?

Just work your way around all edges.

It will sound terrible—like it’s breaking—but it should pop out fine.
