Fxxx that. The pig is all about looking good on the forums. I only wheel it to get pictures to prove that I wheel it.

You can tell it's BA by the painted roll cage.

Removable windshield is way more BA.

So John I figure you have a week and a half to find or build a light weight trailer so you can tow the 40 behind the 4-runner to FN. Thats the way Jeremy would do it.

Maybe it is the way Jeremy would do it...not me, i keep blocking out all the thoughts I'm having about driving it down!

someone find me a 3 car trailer to borrow and I'll tow the 40, my 80 and mr2 behind the f350...

I dropped out the rear 3rd member in the 4runner to determine what the howling was. It only does it when I am coasting, but have the throttle on just enough to keep everything on the drive side (those with lots of t-cases, and lockers know how annoying it is to disengage and reengage the throttle driving down the road), It is quiet under a load and while coasting.

Everything looks ok....

Joez mentioned that the drive side looks polished, which makes sense cause it sounds polished. My plan is to drive it until it fails, I carry a spare.

I also bent up some tube to tie the anti-wrap bar bracket to the housing, the diff covers aren't very thick.

I also plan to re run the rear axle brake lines, as they look like s*** and are begging to be ripped off by a branch.

Then a quick wash, weld a couple cracks in the cage, paint, put the DVD player in it for the summer, and ill be good to go!

Does anyone plan to come back from PYS early? Friday or sooner? Jenn has to be back for school s*** on Sat morning....I told her not to get a job. She is also out completely for South Dakota.

BTW, she did get a job with Carl Sandburg HS, as a PE teacher and coaching some stuff as well.

I thought that howling while coasting was a sign the pinion bearings were failing? But I agree, when it quits working you'll know what needs fixing.

Enjoy the trip; I'm too busy doing "40 guy stuff".

Yeah, maybe. Everything feels ok, i could have crushed the crush sleeve further. These are factory 4.88's, so they dont have a solid sleeve. But the pinion doesnt look to riding deep, and there isnt scarring on the carrier.

My plan is to see what happens.

Lol.

Arb front locker.

I have rain storms brewing over this. They are still over the horizon, but my joints feel the storm coming......

On June 9th, Flat Nasty has an event called "Guns n Roses". Evidently it is a "girls drive, guys shoot clay pigeons".....
