yup went out and put the truck on its side today. Luckily it didnt hurt her much as it was a slow tip.
How it happened was i was coming up a creek bank a couple of feet high that was quite off camber and in places very rutted out from much larger trucks running tires in the range of 38"+ and digging out the creek bottom. Well i made it up just fine but there was a second bank and i could not turn as a tree was in the way so as i pushed the tree with my front bumper my rear tires kept getting closer and closer. I started at 6 inches of room before i hit the drop off and ended with -4 feet.
I had a 4 wheeler pull my front end sideways as i was beyond the point of no return and the only way to go was forward... Well aparently that wasnt an option wither as right when i was straight enough to move forward my left rear dropped into a 3-4 foot drop off taking the rest of the truck with it.
The driver door took some damage but still opens and closes just fine.the roofrack is what took most of the force and it came out with no damage. I didnt loose any windows and knowone was hurt. right after i tipped 5-6 guys came over and pushed it to where it was more uprighted and not just on the side.
I then had a buddy come out with his 62 and hooked to my frame and pulled to level me out while a jeep pulled me backwards once back in the shallow creek she fired back to life and i drove out and took her home.
and to stay techy.
a good roofrack being added to your vehicle can possibly save your windows and make you much happier later in the day.
pictures on way.
