Push Button Ignition

Just FYI, on my '13 200 there is no ignition key, just the push button.

If the battery in the fob dies, the door can still be opened with the key contained in the fob - but what about engine start?

Just hold the fob against the button while pushing it and the immobilizer will be disabled and the engine will start. Pretty cool.

Evidently, the battery in the fob powers a transmitter that allows the fob to be a few feet away from the push button to operate. The push button, however, can "read" the fob when it is in close proximity even when it is unable to transmit.

There is an added benefit: if you remove the ignition assembly and go push button you also eliminate the risk of a broken ignition shaft. Could be an increased theft risk if you hide the key next to the immobilizer antenna.
Speaking from experience! That’s why I want a push button

Im having trouble finding the TRD push button ignition that will fit a 2020 LC. Anyone have the part number ?

on the later 100's maybe 04+, i think you only have to give the key a quick turn and back / a quick click, and it'll start, no holding it over till the truck catches, just a quick twist and back.
