It runs! Really well. Seems quieter! After fuel got into the injectors it just purred to life, no drama and hardly any smoke, especially for being cold. Took about 40 hand pumps on the primer and two sessions of 10 second cranking.

Here is one that made my Friday.

VE Pump from a 5.9 12V

Third party field service tech argued with us that it was not a pump problem causing a no-start. Swore up and down that it HAD to be injectors.
The subsequent prolonged engine cranking turned a simple fix into a much more expensive one....

Main springs broken and rotor jammed, causing breakage around the rotor foot/base.

In most cases, the engine will exhibit very strange running issues, no start, intermittent stalling, etc. Usually it is one spring that is broken. These are both broken in multiple spots. It is likely that one of the pieces got caught in the camplate/plunger foot area just enough to cause the damage.

It also caused pieces to migrate into the advance bore and piston, destroying an otherwise usable housing. (Will upload pics soon)

Enjoy.

I doubt it.

Guy is a real piece of work. Have to deal with him regularly with this kind of thing.

Regardless, the pump would have to have be rebuilt.
it just got to be more of an expensive build from misdiagnosis.

When in doubt, remove pump. ;)

Another recent 5.9 failure

100% Contamination caused.
Supply pump vanes very scored, usually a tell tale sign of debris in the fuel.
